Brown, Maxton
Alexander, George C.
Brown signs the letter but refers to "us" and puts both his name and Alexander's at the bottom. A dust storm reminds them of Indio but also of "Montezuma and his prophet Doc Post" and that "we have never thanked you for your assistance." They learn geography "from up above," how to "take on fighters," and "classify ack-ack," but also how the enemy's land is "very beautiful, a fact the cartographers leave out." Brown was killed over Catania, Sicily on July 8, 1943.
