Dear Dr. Post,

I suppose this letter, or should I say note, will be a surprise to you. Its[sic] been a long time since we've seen each other.

Maybe I should refresh your memory as to who I am. -Remember the student who did some lettering or printing on one of your Geography posters. I think it was in 1937. Since then I have received my B.S. degree in Animal Husbandry at the Univ. of California (Aggies) and have joined the Navy. I'm what they call aviation cadet here at Corpus Christi.

I was prompted to write this note because I read Bob Bauder's news letter #1 and really think its[sic] a wonderful idea. Your work, I'm positive, is being greatly appreciated by all of the boys, and because I went to state for two years and knew you personally - I wanted to add my little bit.

As far as other "staters" are concerned I think you have a record of all that I know of except a Tom Milligan who went there when I did (1936-1937) Tom is in the R.A.F. and is now training somewhere in Texas. College Station I believe.

I Read[sic] that Lewis Yapp [Omega Xi] and Chappie Bone [Delta Pi Beta] are with the Canadian R.A.F. This is purely scuttlebutt on my part. (Thats[sic] Rumor[sic] in navy language) Incidentally - I had the doggonest time learning that the floor was a "deck" and "1400" meant 2:00P.M. and many other navy terms.

I've seen most all of the state boys here at Corpus already inspite[sic] of the fact that its[sic] a big place. Right now I've been subjected to a little delay in training, because I'm in the hospital. They removed my stitches last Wednesday and I'll be out of here in a couple of weeks I hope. -Maybe I should explain myself a little more - no air accident - just a minor operation for a cyst teratona[sic].

I guess I've held your attention long enough for now. I'd enjoy hearing from you when you get time - and I really think you're doing a wonderful service for the boys in the Service.

Sincerely
A/c Robert H. Anderson
