Kishler, Claude L., Jr.
Kishler has enjoyed his "tour of sea duty" but would now like "a few years of shore duty." He asks that newsletters be sent to his wife, whom he hasn't seen "for four long months." He doesn't understand Phil Thacher's "Remember the Houston," but says his shipmates use the "fighting words" "The Guadalcanal Express." He asks after Ed Zender. The Guadalcanal Campaign was being fought at this time in the Solomon Islands.
