Dear Dr. Post,

We have been following your News Letter very closely and have been so interested in it.

I am writing for my husband, Z. Allen Barker who is now a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He was commissioned in the 12th R.O.C. on Sept. 26, 1942 and finished his training on December 2. He is now in Base Defense School for specialized training here in Quantico.

He was in San Diego State in 1931, '32, '35 and '36 and then went to the University of California when he was graduated in Forestry.

It was very interesting to us to learn the whereabouts of our old friends many of whom[sic] we had had no news since we left State.

Thanks again and
Good luck.
