Diamond, Franklin A.
Machinist's Mate Second Class Diamond writes that his ship, United States Ship (USS) Jupiter received the first mail "in a long time" and that he was glad to hear from Wallace McAnulty and surprised at the number of faculty who joined armed services. He says his wife keeps him "posted" on football scores and laments the "bad season." Diamond's ship was engaged in supplying troops and ships to the Solomon Islands.
