The State College Railroad was an underground newspaper that was antiwar and focused on academic freedom. This issue has an account by Peter Bohmer of the case against him. The volume number printed on the first page is clearly a reference to the book by George Orwell, given that the title 1984 and its implications are referred to a number of times in the issue.
