A sign that reads, "Please don't feed the fundies" is posted on a tree trunk for the Pride rally. "Fundies" was a common joking name for "fundamentalist" Christians who protested Pride parades carrying anti-gay signs. According to the San Diego LGBT Pride timeline, these signs were posted throughout Balboa Park in this year to try to starve protesters of the attention sought.
