Graffman (right) was an American pianist who studied in Paris as a Fulbright scholar and led an international touring career. He performed as a guest pianist with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra on March 6th and 7th, 1975. Ormandy was a Hungarian conductor and violinist who served as the music director of the Philadelphia Orchestra for over four decades.

Typed on the back of the print: "THE TCHAIKOVSKY NOBODY KNEW. Conductor Eugene Ormandy and pianist Gary Graffman relax after Philadelphia Orchestra recording session of Tchaikovsky Concertos No. 2 and No. 3. Their disc of these brilliant but heretofore neglected works by one of the world's most popular composers has caught the music public's fancy and become a best seller, joining Graffnan's equally successful recording of the famous Concerto No. 1."
