Di Virgilio was an American tenor who sang with the San Francisco Opera, the New York City Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera. He performed as a guest vocalist with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra on November 20th and 21st, 1975, with mezzo-soprano Marvelee Cariaga and violinist Harold Wolf. Written on the back of print: "Nicolas di Virgilio, Mahler - 'The Song of the Earth,' January 30 - 31."
