George Shearing sits at a piano wearing sunglasses. A caption reads, "George Shearing will appear in a special jazz program August 4 by the San Diego Symphony." This print is presumably a promotional photograph for Shearing's guest performance with the symphony. Shearing was a British jazz pianist who recorded with Discovery Records, MGM Records, and Capital Records for over 50 years. He performed as a guest pianist with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra on August 4th, 1978, with Stan Kenton and Victor Kaskin for the Summer of Stars series.
