This was the first year that the Montezuma Campus was occupied by San Diego State, and drawings of Hardy Tower decorate the front and first inside page, along with color line drawings of Hardy Tower and Hepner Hall, (as "The Library" and "The Campanile"), and the Training School, and photographs of the 1930 cornerstone, Hepner Hall, Hardy Tower, the Training School Building, and the Shop Building. An article on "The Architecture of the New College" by Howard Hazen (the architect, 1882-1939) is included. There are also photographs of the Balboa Park buildings from the 1915 Panama-California Exposition, Mt. Helix, Point Loma, Torrey Pines, the Junipero Serra Museum, and La Jolla beach The annual is dedicated to Dean Ada Hughes Coldwell, who had just retired from her position as dean of women. A desciption of the three days of dedication of the new campus from May 1-3, 1931 is given on p. 175. There is a line drawing of the projected ten-year result of the "Building Program" described on the same pages. Photographs of the first work crew and a description of the first "S" on Cowles Hill ("Black Mountain") are near the end of the yearbook.
