This episode of Full Focus KPBS begins with its signature opening music and montage. After an introduction by Gloria Penner, the program goes into the history of the university as told by professor emeritus Raymond Starr. Among other clips is one of John F. Kennedy giving his commencement address in 1963. Then host Penner discusses campus expansion at San Diego State University, beginning with a conversation with San Diego State University President Stephen Weber and athletics head Mike Bohn. Penner also brings in San Diego State University alumna Michele Nash-Hoff, a resident of nearby Del Cerro and opponent of some expansion plans. In reply, Weber discusses the context of the Del Cerro development and the planned southeastern "Paseo Development." The segment aired in 2005.
