This picture postcard of the Plaza Hotel or New Plaza Hotel shows buildings that looked much the same in 2011. The Pig'n Whistle, a chain that began to decline in the 1950s and that had contracted to Los Angeles by 1968, had been replaced by Joe's Smokin' B.B.Q. In 1952 postage for postcards was raised to 2 cents, the amount required to mail this untraveled card.
