PC-000-645
Picture postcard of Fifth Avenue, San Diego, California
E. C. Kropp Co., Milwaukee, Wisconsin
This hand-tinted picture postcard is almost exactly the same as PC-000-642, and in fact has the name publisher's number (117). This is a day scene instead of a night scane as in PC-000-642; the coloring is different; the flags here are missing in the night scane; and two cars in he night scene are absent here. Grayson's is still the second building on the left, having been the Kress Building and the Grant Building (purchased by the son of Ulysses S. Grant in 1894) and before that. It became the Grayson Building in 1948. Note the semaphore traffic signal (left toward bottom with red "stop" flag up). The Kress Building shown here was between C and D Streets.
