In this sepia-toned photograph on a picture postcard, three men ae riding in an open automobile, with the driver on the right side, and the car on the far right of a dirt road. What appear to be a horse and wagon are following them at a distance in the middle of what would become U. S. Highway 80 and a business loop for Interstate 8 when Highway 80 was decomissioned after 1964. The western end of Highway 80 was in San Diego at U. S. Highway 101, starting in 1926. This postcard was published and the photograph dated by the San Diego Historical Society. The publisher's number on the back of the card is ESD 1.
