An orangutan raises its left fist while facing the camera but looking away. The printing at the bottom of the image portion of this color picture postcard is "Thinking of You." The reverse of the card identifies the animal as living at the San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park, San Diego, California. In 2013, orangutans are either "critically endangered" or "endangered," depending on whether they are Bornean or Sumatran, according to the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources). Numbers on the back of the card include one in the top left corner, 86391, and one in the stamp box, 661037 with the words "Litho in U.S.A."
