Two female lions in darkness, lying down, one baring her teeth, at the San Diego Zoo
EKC photo paper
This is a Real Photo Post Card (RPPC) made with EKC photo paper (as evidenced in the stampbox on the back of this card). The Real Photo process allowed photographers to take a "snap shot" and have it finished at a photo shop that printed it out on postcard backing for mailing. EKC photo paper was made from 1930 to 1950. In the photograph, two lionesses lie next to but facing away from one another. The one on the left bares her teeth. A handwritten inscription on the right in white ink identifies the animals as lions and places them at the "San Diego Zoo." The San Diego Zoo is in Balboa Park, San Diego, California.
