Four king penguins stand upright in a row in their enclosure at the San Diego Zoo
The message portion of this picture postcard states that it is part of the "Animal Color Series from the San Diego Zoo," showing "King Penguins Sub-Antarctic Regions." The picture portion depicts four penguins with king-penguin markings standing in a row in what looks to be a zoo enclosure. One of the penguins is apreading its flippers, revealing the yellow countershading on the insides of the flipper. In the wild, king penguins breed on subantartic islands such as the Falklands and South Georgia. The San Diego Zoo is in Balboa Park, San Diego, California. No publisher is given, but the number in the upper left corner of the back of the card is B-1.
