This is a color picture postcard in the "Animal Color Series fromthe San Diego Zoo," stating that what appears to be a color photograph on the picture portion of the postcard shows a "Himalayan Black Bear Southern and Eastern Asia." The bear, with the characteristic pale yellow crescent pattern on its chest, is standing on its hind feet with its right paw outstretched, apparently in its enclosure in the San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park, San Diego, California. No publisher is given, but there are two numbers on the back of the card, SDZ-2 in the upper left corner, and 1DK-934 in the stampbox. The number in the stampbox appears to be a Curt Teich number corresponding to the year 1960.
