This is a color postcard, part of the "Animal Color Series from the San Diego Zoo," bearing what appears to be a photograph of a bear. The message postion of the card states, along with the series name, that the bear is a "Kodiak Bear, Alaska." The picture shows a brown bear standing on all fours in what appears to be a zoo enclosure. It looks as if the bear is on the extreme edge of the moat separating the visitor's path from the enclosure. Some leaves of foliage show at the bottom right of the picture. The San Diego Zoo is in Balboa Park.
