Looking toward northwest corner of Plaza de Panama, with California Tower, Balboa Park
E. C. Kropp Company, Milwaukee, WI
From the southeast, the Plaza de Panama (old Plaza del Pacifico) stretches north and south near the western entrance of Balboa Park. El Prado street can be seen traversing the Plaza at about the middle of the photograph, heading west between the House of Charm (old Indian Arts Building) on the left (southwest corner) and the Palace of Photography (old Science and Education Building) on the right (northwest corner). This building was also known as the Medical Arts Building and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Building before it was razed in the 1960s. The California Tower is in about the center of the photograph, designed by architect Bertram Goodhue ( (1869-1924) and built for the Panama-California Exposition of 1915.
