This postcard promotes a television special produced and directed by Jack Ofield, about the California Pacific International Exposition of 1935 held in San Diego's Balboa Park. The documentary was made by the Production Center for Documentary and Drama at San Diego State University and aired in 1996. Shown in the sketch on the picture portion of the postcard is the Avenida de Palacios (Avenue of Palaces) as it might have looked in 1935, with the California Tower in the right distance, the Cafe of the World, Palace of Photography, and on the left, on the southwest corner of the Plaza de Panama, the House of Charm (formerly Indian Arts Building).
