This view from the Plaza del Pacifico shows the lagoon (Laguna de Espejo, Reflecting Pool, Laguna de las Flores or Lily Pond)) and California Building and Tower (1915 California State Building) constructed for the Panama-California International Exposition of 1915. This photograph is from the California Pacific International Exposition of 1935 held in San Diego's Balboa Park, when the California buildings were known as the "Palace of Science." The California Building, designed by Bertram Goodhue (1869-1924) was in continuous use from 1916 as the San Diego Museum, renamed the San Diego Museum of Man.
