The hydroelectric plant shown on this picture postcard is Power House No. 3, with Power House No. 1 in the background on the right. Power plant No. 1 was built in 1905, and No. 3 was constructed after a flood lowered the grade of the New River by 40 feet (Great Flood of 1905-07). On the back of the card is the logo of the Panama-California Exposition of San Diego, 1915. The number on the back of the card is R-18298, which, while unacknowledged, is a Curt Teich number. According to the guide maintained by the Curt Teich Postcard Archives, the number indicates 1910.
