The back of this unsent postcard refers to this "new structure" as having been built "on the spot where the motion picture industry first took root in Hollywood in October of 1911." The year was 1938 and the architect was William Lescaze. The "spot" to which the description refers was first occupied by Nestor Studios, the first movie sudio in Hollywood. The CBS/KNX Radio Center property fell into disuse after KNX moved to Wilshire Boulevard in 2005 and the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) moved to their CBS Studio Center in Studio City in 2007. The number in the lower right corner is 8A-H2995, which, according to the guide maintained by the Curt Teich Postcard Archives, translates to 1938.
