C. C. Pierce & Co., Los Angeles, California
The interior of the Hollywood home of painter Paul de Longpre (1855-1911) is shown here. Built in 1901 and demolished around 1920, it was designed by architect Louis Bourgeois. After an 1896 New York exhibit brought him fame, de Longpre, known for his paintings of flowers, moved to Hollywood in 1899. His home and garden constituted a stop on the "Balloon Excursion" run by the Los Angeles streetcar companies. This is the same as PC-001-273 except for the label giving the location, in the left lower corner. The publisher's number on the divided back is 5158.
