The town of Hermosa Beach was incorporated in 1907 with two miles of ocean frontage, not including 200 feet on either side of the pier shown just above the middle of this color picture postcard. The number on the back of the card is 2A591, which, according to the guide maintained by the Curt Teich Postcard Archives, translates to the year 1932. A pencilled marking points to a spot toward the top of the card, along the beach, reading "about here."
