"Natural color" post card of the "Indian Village" during the California Pacific International Exposition of 1935 held in San Diego's Balboa Park. This exhibit, less some 300 square feet with modern facilities, had been built for the Panama-California Internatiional Exposition of 1915 and taken over by the Boy Scouts, who relinquished most of the "Painted Desert" for the 1935 Exposition. The original ethnology exibit was conceived and implemented by David Charles Collier (1871-1934). variously director-general and president of the 1915 Exposition, and was officially known as the Santa Fe Railway exhibit.
