From left to right, the schools shown here start with Point Loma High School, built in 1925. In the center is a photograph of Coronado High School, founded in 1913 and in its own school district; at the right top La Jolla High School, within the San Diego Unified School District, as are the rest of the high schools shown. La Jolla High School was opened in 1922, Hoover High School at bottom left in 1930, and San Diego High School, the oldest, in 1882. In this photograph, however, the buildings shown for San Diego High School began construction in 1906, expanded through the 1920s, and were replaced in 1977.
