The San Diego Naval Hospital started construction in 1922 after a tent dispensary was established in 1914. More land was deeded to the Navy in subsequent years, and finally a new Naval Medical Center in Florida Canyon, Balboa Park, was dedicated in 1988, This hand-tinted photographic reproduction differs only in some coloring from PC-000-918 in this collection, by a different publisher. The Curt Teich number on the other card is A-98791.
