Picture postcard of aerial view of San Diego downtown with east at the top
Bunnell Photo Shop
This Real Photo poctcard (RPPC) shows the San Diego downtown area in aerial view. The wide street that goes all the way from the top past the bottom of the photograph in the middle is Broadway. The El Cortez Hotel, tallest San Diego building from its opening in 1927 until it was topped in 1963, is on the far left toward the top, on Ash Street. This printout process by which amateurs or professionals could have their photographs developed on postcard blanks is identified in the stamp box on the back of this card as "Agfa-Ansco," a type of paper that was used from 1928-1941.
