Mural in Catalina Casino Building Ballroom, Santa Catalina Island, Callifornia

 

 

 

 

The motto on the back, "In All the World no Trip Like This," along with a flag with a "W" on it, indicates that this card was part of a promotional campaign by the Wilmington Transportation Company, the steamship line that ferried passengers from the California Mainland to the Island. This promotional campaign started as early as 1913 and lasted many years. The back of the card describes this mural as being in the ballroom of the 1929 building, where indirect lighting "comes from behind an inner wall where 800 globes in various colors throw different colored lights in succession upont he murals."
