Campus Training School and playground, San Diego State College, San Diego, California
The training school was an integral part of the original Normal School that became San Diego State College, beginning in 1900. In 1910, a separate building was completed for the elementary school. In 1931 the school relocated to Montezuma Mesa with the college, to a building later called Physical Sciences. In 1953 the school was again relocated to a new building east of the Open Air Theatre. The printing on this postcard that shows the college as "San Diego State" delimits this photograph to a beginning date of 1935, and the depiction of the Physical Sciences Building as the Training School ends the possible dates at 1953, when the new Campus Laboratory School was completed.
