The unfinished character of areas of Montezuma Mesa shown in the foreground of this photograph is in contrast to the growth by the end of the 1950s, when 54 "usable" (not vertical like some of the land shown here) acres had been increased to 113 and the square footage of buildings had nearly quadrupled. The core of buildings at San Diego State College shown in this Plastichrome picture postcard includes Hepner Hall and Hardy Tower. Plastichrome postcards were only made from the 1950s. The publisher's number on the back of the card is probably from Colourpicture, P7774.
