J. D. Spreckels, Esq.
San Francisco, Calif.,
Dear Sir:-
I desire to call your attention to the per capita of the hotel for the month of July, compared with the months of March and June under Mr. McIntyre's management. We have reduced it nearly one-half, and still I do not think any boarder will discover the difference on the table.

I cannot understand why we do not have more people this Summer than we had last season. Are running about twenty-five percent short, and have ever since April. We seem to have very few regular boarders, and I shall make an attempt to get them.
Yours truly,
E. S. Babcock
