A construction sign gives the name of the Trepte Construction Company, Incorporated, "established 1895, members of the Associated General Contractors." The building is characterized as the "Student Union for the Associated Students San Diego State by the Trustees of the California State Colleges with assistance from Department of Housing and Urban Development, Community Facilities Division." On the right, "Trustees of the California State Colleges," for the "Student Union for the Associated Students San Diego State College. Architects: Robert Mosher and Roy Drew, members of the American Institute of Architects. Consultants to the architects" are mainly illegible but include structural engineering and landscape architects and food service facilities.
