In the Fall of 2015, Gale Etschmaier, library dean, commissioned the instructors (Carlos Castro Arias and Eva Struble) and students in Art 404 and Art 406 to create a mural to symbolize the library as a welcoming place of encounter and discovery, reflecting the coexistence of different ideologies and ways of thinking, and as a hub of innovation and tradition. It was created during the fall semester and dedicated in February 2016.

The list of student artists includes: Mary Cale Anderegg, Christian Andrews, Allison Beaudry, Dennis Berglind, Spencer Brandt, Shelby Buska, Becca Chacon, Veronica Dao, Ashley Fenderson, Brittany Flores, Myra Franco, Troy Guard, Yi Li, Ricky Lopez, Charlene Mosley, Beth Mueller, Karen Partida, Vicky Peng, Stephan Romero, Ernest Saenz, Ethan Snow, Brianna Speight,
