Mrs. Bayne went to Radcliffe College and did her graduate work as well as her senior year at Harvard. In some instances she was the only person in the class since she was studying Latin and Greek. She married instead of working on her doctorate. She was a chairman of a Latin department, ending up at Bryn Mawr College. Bayne was President of the League of Women Voters, and member of the state board for the American Association of University Women, and is at the time of interview a member of the Governing Board of the Palomar Community College District. This Interview was conducted for Carlotta Mellon's oral history project on women in politics.
