Badger's parents immigrated to the United States after attempting to join Maximilian in Mexico. She was trained to be a "domestic arts teacher." After marriage and the birth of her son, she was president of local Parent Teacher Associations (PTA). She started a small diner in Rancho Santa Fe. Badger was a member of the Governing Board of the Rancho Santa Fe School District in San Diego County. She ran for the school board because she believed the schools were "in bad shape," but wasn't really "looking for the job." She knew most of the people on the Board and says she got along well with them. She discusses the Rancho Santa Fe community and its history and social and economic makeup. Her family owned a gas station and soda fountain frequented by Bing Crosby, and helped to found the Christian Science Church in Rancho Santa Fe where she eventually became a healing practitioner. This interview was conducted for the "Oral History Research Department" (Department of History) at San Diego State University. It was digitized by the California Audiovisual Preservation Project (CAVPP). The topic was "Women in Politics."
