One of the camping parks at Wheelers Hot Springs, California
Melville Gravure Process, Los Angeles, California
The description on the divided back reads: "Wheeler's Hot Mineral Springs, Ventura Co[unty], Cal[ifornia], Boarding and Camping Accommodations, Electrically Lighted." Two cottages on stone pilings stand in the woods, the one on the right with a sign on a tree that says, "Oak Park No. 1." The springs were named for Wheeler C. Blumberg, who discovered hot springs near the north fork of Matilija Creek in 1888. The publisher was only in business from 1908 to 1921.
