On the right a pergola is held up by pillars, leading to a walk with chairs and more vegetation between them and a building with a bell tower and colonnade on the left. This black-and-white image has a white border. Another card by the same publisher and apparently the same series shows the front of the 1919 hotel of which this is apparently the back. This hotel, designed by architects Mead and Requa, became The Oaks at Ojai. On the back of the card is the publisher's motto in the dividing line: "Postcards of Quality." The Albertype process was the first workable collotype process, invented by Josef Albert in Munich. The prints were made from photographic negatives but this is not a silver process like that of the "Real Photo Post Cards," which used branded develop-out or other photographic papers.
