Hotel Anacapa, Ventura, California
This mainly black-and-white card has an embossed frame around the oval image of a three-story hotel. Only the title is in red. The hotel was on a corner of Main and Palm Streets, built in 1888 by Fridolin Hartman, and demolished in the 1920s. The publisher's number 714, logo, and the phrase "Made in Germany" are on the divided back. Another number, 234640, is in the lower right corner of the back. Pacific Novelty Company started its business in 1908, and cards stopped being printed in Germany for export back to the United States around 1915.
