This black-and-white Real Photo Post Card shows a series of homes along a beach, with a pier jutting into the Pacific Ocean from one of them. The strip of beach houses along the Pacific Coast Highway belonging to actors and producers was called "the American Riviera," "the Gold Coast," and "Rolls Royce Row." On another postcard (1940) with the same photograph, the area is identified as including the beach house of Marion Davies. The number 221 is near the right lower corner of the picture on this white-bordered card.
