Soldiers Home near Santa Monica, California

The Sawtelle Veterans Home on the west side of Los Angeles was also known as the Old Soldiers Home. The Veterans Administration combined the earlier National Home and Veterans Bureau, with construction of the Wadsworth Hospital, later the Veterans Administration Wadsworth Medical Center, on this site. The "home" here consists of the series of houses with porches on the first and second floors on the right. On the left is the Wadsworth Chapel at the intersection of Wilshire and Sawtelle (Bonsall Avenue). The publisher's number 5159 is on the back along with the phrase, "Made in Germany." The dividing line has a warning to its left that the space may only be used for return addresses.
