The descriptive paragraph on the divided back reads: "Club del Mar Where Pico Meets the Sea Santa Monica California: Beach Club in summer--Town House in Winter. Indoor swimming pool, unexcelled cuisine, all bedrooms are exquisite in new furniture, lights, and decorations. Dancing on weekends to famous orchestras. Other entertainment." The hotel was later known as the Casa del Mar, facing Ocean Front Walk and the beach just south of the Santa Monica Pier. The Teich number in the stampbox on the back is D-9704, from which the date was derived.
