Bristol Pier, Santa Monica, California

 

 

 

 

Bristol Pier was a private pier in Ocean Park on which the Nat Goodwin Cafe opened in 1913. The cafe is at the ocean end of the pier, seen at the left on this sepia-tone card. After renaming the pier the Crystal Pier, Goodwin sold the cafe to Baron Long, when it became the Sunset Inn. The pier was demolished in 1949. The publisher's number 2691 is in the bottom right corner of the image. The publisher was in business under this name from 1904-1918, making the possible production dates for this card from 1907-1918.
