The viewer looks between flowers and shrubs to see Redlands and the distant San Bernardino Mountains. The name of the place, Smiley Heights, is misspelled in the title. The area was named after twin brothers Albert and Alfred Smiley, who lived there and donated money, time, and their name to many landmarks in the Redlands area. The publisher's number 56 is in front of the title on the label near the right bottom. On the divided back is the message "Made in Japan."
