The viewer looks out from a drive to a house on the ridge, then across the valley to the snow-capped San Bernardino Mountains on the north or northeast. The area of Smiley Heights took its name from Albert K. and Alfred H. Smiley, twin philanthropists who made their homes there and donated time and money to many Redlands-area projects. The publisher's number H 12 is on the divided back along with the phrase "Made in Germany." This card would have been produced between 1907 and 1915.
