Mitchell, Edward H.
This postcard back carries a legible postmark, a special cancellation, an intact postage stamp, and a legible message and address handwritten in cursive using blue ink. It also has a dividing line characteristic of Edward H. Mitchell, the publisher, but in this case with the California Sales Company's name inside it. The rose on top of a dagger is seen on many Mitchell cards. Mitchell bought the company in 1911. At the top of the message panel is a printed railroad-promotion motto.

Dear Edith,
I shall think of you when looking at the original of this view later in the day. The weather is ideal, all signs of rain having passed away. Hope you will have a good time Tuesday night. Alas, one cannot be in 2 places at once!!
