The A. K. Smiley Public Library, established 1894, has been at this location since 1898. Clearly seen here are the rose windows, Dutch gabling, tower with its dome, and front colonnade. The style of the library designed by T. R. Griffith is described on the Library's site as Moorish. Albert K. Smiley, one of twin-brother philanthropists, bought the land for and furnished the library that was named after him. Teich's number at the bottom of the dividing line on the back is A-52327, from which the date was derived.
